    HUMAN & HORSE GUASHA THERAPY

HUMAN & HORSE METHOD

I am Liska Thissen, and I am your instructor for the Guasha, practical training year 1, year 2, and various continuing education courses. My passion lies in optimizing the movement and functioning of humans and horses. I would love to share this passion with you. Through my background as a physiotherapist, Guasha therapist for humans and animals, and animal osteopath, I strive to offer you the most comprehensive package possible to help the people and horses in your environment.

I came into contact with Guasha therapy when I was 14 years old. I had been suffering for a long time from almost weekly migraine attacks, neck pain, and back pain. After just one treatment, I was free of my symptoms for six months! At that moment, I knew: "I have to learn this!" During my training as a physiotherapist, I immediately started working with Guasha therapy. In 2017, I lovingly developed the Human & Horse Guasha training, and many people have already had the opportunity to experience this wonderful method.

The power of growth lies in the golden combination of training and therapy. On the one hand, the body must feel comfortable and supple; on the other, you must be able to handle the physical challenges of everyday life.

To me, the Human & Horse method is like a form of exercise therapy for horses. After developing basic communication, you can continue to grow together. In this, you can address all aspects of training, whether it concerns strength, balance, suppleness, or impulsion. But most importantly, there is the contribution of communication to the understanding and bond with your horse!

ELLEN FULD

HUMAN & HORSE METHODE

I am Ellen Fuld, and for me, the Human & Horse method is the foundation for working with horses in a harmonious way, making them not only physically stronger but also more balanced, supple, mentally stronger, and more confident.

A few years ago, together with my PRE gelding Zingaro, I completed the instructor training at the Human & Horse Academy. That was a beautiful, sometimes challenging, but above all educational journey that formed the basis for my work today. After passing my auditions, I started working as a teacher at the Human & Horse Academy.

I have had my young horse Messi, son of Nevada, since he was a foal, and I have been training him using this method from day one. He is now eight years old, and thanks to all the preparatory groundwork, the breaking-in process went very naturally and organically.

As a teacher at the Human & Horse Academy,  I find it wonderful to be able to guide both horse and rider together. When things click for both of them, that is truly magical. In addition, I give private lessons and guide horse-rider combinations in their development.

I am also a Gua Sha and veterinary naturopathic therapist for horses, dogs, and cats. This aligns perfectly with the Human & Horse method: we look at the whole animal—internally, physically, and mentally—to optimally support it toward sustainable well-being for both horse and human.

HUMAN & HORSE METHOD

TRAINING COORDINATOR

In 2019, I faced a challenge during my horse Ella's rehabilitation process. We seemed to have tried every possibility, but the hoped-for result had not yet been achieved. That is how I ended up at the Human & Horse Academy, just as you are likely starting this training now, with your own unique goal or dream.

The strength of Human & Horse lies in how we can help you with a tailor-made combination of training and Gua Sha, exactly as it made the difference for Ella and me. Every small step gave confidence and helped us refocus on progress, both physically and mentally. Together, we take small, achievable steps, perfectly suited to the phase you and your horse are in at that moment.

This experience has taught me a great deal, and it is exactly what I would like to pass on to you in my role as training coordinator and instructor: setbacks often offer the greatest opportunities for growth, and patience, attention, and a tailored approach are the key to transformation.

I look forward to sharing these insights with you and your horse, so that you can both stand in your power and enjoy every step of this process.
